Personal Projects
Much of my free time is spent doing projects of my own fruition. Below are some examples.
Note: Not all my projects are listed here at this time.
DIY “Boring Flame Thrower”
A Boring Company “Not a Flame Thrower” equivalent to that of the original.
ADA Compliant Outdoor Table
Senior year of High School two friends and I were approach to build a table that would suit the needs of those that are disabled. What we produced is shown to the right. This design lead us to become finalist in a national design competition, enabling us to travel to Austin Texas and New York for competition.
120V (2) to 240V Converter
My Dad and I made a converter that takes (2) 120v standard house outlets and outputs 240v. We made this so that I can weld anywhere there is 120v and to maybe charge an electric car. It has voltage and amperage readout with thermal overload safety breakers.
Trailer
Due to the various projects I do, It has required to me to rent or borrow a trailer frequently. I got tired of doing that, so I built one on my driveway.
Welding Positioner
I made a welding positioner that enables me to spin parts while I weld them. To do this, I used a chuck, designed a fully insulated transmission, and attached it to a stepper motor.
Precision Welding Table
Welding table I built with an aluminum top that was machined down to have a flatness rating of plus or minus 5 thou.
Outdoor Propane Fire Pit
A 40” propane fire pit I made for my family. It consists of a concrete bowl, stainless steel burner ring and brown glass. Along with creating the burner assembly to accomplish the look I wanted, it required me to bury a gas line underground and then pipe it into the bottom of the bowl
2002 Chevy Silverado
I’ve spent quite a bit of time restoring, maintaining, and upgrading my 2002 Chevy Silverado. I try to do as much work as I can myself. Some of the things that have been done to this vehicle are: new suspension, new paint, back up camera installation, Bluetooth installation, leveling kit, front sway arms and universal brackets and new exhaust to meet the best emission standards.
Meat Smoker
Meat smoker I made for my Dad for Father’s Day in 2019.
It features 3 smoking racks, two temperature chambers, and a completely removable door.
Stainless Steel Grill Insert
24” X 30” grill area, all stainless. It features small rods as the grilling surface and the ability for the grill assembly to be removed or hinged up to access the firebox or to clean. Built for a customer of mine
Cutting Boards
To date I’ve made over 25 high quality cutting boards. Made from fine hardwoods intended to last a lifetime, most of which are end grain.
Propane Fire Table Insert
This build was done for my Aunt and Uncle who wanted a table with a small burner in the middle. The burner would drop into a cavity I routed out and the table sit on the housing for the propane. My favorite part of this build was that the door to the propane was held on by magnets.
PRODUCTIVITY DESK
40” x 70” desk intended to house my monitors, printer and books with ample space for anything else I might need it for.
The top is made of maple and I welded the legs out of standard steel.
